Forgotten Drink (forgottendrink.com) is run by one person from Singapore. We collect as little as we can. Questions or requests: info@forgottendrink.com.
What we don’t do
You don’t need an account, and we don’t sell personal information or use advertising features. Scaling a recipe or switching units is worked out in your browser. If you accept analytics, we count that a recipe was scaled or converted and into what (Metric or US, volume or weight), never the amounts.
Analytics, only if you say yes
Google Analytics loads only after you accept analytics cookies. If you reject them, the site works the same. You can change your mind any time through Cookie settings in the footer.
If you accept, Google Analytics sees your browser and device type, rough location, the pages you visit and a few actions, such as searching, scaling, copying or printing a recipe. In What can I make? it counts roughly how many bottles you ticked and how many drinks came up, never which bottles. We record only a broad category for where you came from (for example Google, Pinterest or email), not the full address. Please don’t type personal details into the search box.
We remember your choice for 180 days. Google’s cookies (_ga and _ga_*) last up to 180 days. Withdrawing consent stops new data and clears these cookies, but doesn’t delete what Google already received. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services (opens in a new tab).
Recipe ratings
If you rate a recipe, we store your star rating and a scrambled code made from your IP address and that recipe, so that rating again changes your vote instead of adding another. We don’t store the address itself, and the code is deleted after 90 days. Only the average and the number of ratings are shown.
Things your browser remembers
Your unit choice (Metric or US) and light or dark theme are kept in your browser’s storage, and so are a reminder of any stars you gave a recipe and the items you ticked in What can I make? Recipe pages read those ticks, in your browser only, to tell you whether you can make the drink. Clear the site’s data to remove them.
Hosting and email
Cloudflare delivers the site and, like any web host, processes your IP address and the pages you request to serve and protect it (Cloudflare’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab)). Its request logs record details such as your country and the page you asked for, so we can find faults, and are deleted after a few days. If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply, and keep them no longer than needed.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or withdraw consent. Email us and we’ll help. You can also contact your privacy regulator, such as Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission (opens in a new tab).
If this changes, we’ll update the date above.
